Introduction to the Podcast |
Ben: Welcome everyone to a new podcast series that for some reason we
have decided to call Blagg Pods. Lucy: Ben you were the one that made up and choose this name Jay: [Laughs] That is very true Ben: [slightly amused] Ok, let’s not get bogged down with who said
what. [Really Quickly] Lucy: It was you Jay: Yeah you Holly: agreed. Ben: [Slightly agitated] Anyway moving on, my name is Ben and joining
me today we have Jay… Jay: Hi I’m Jay Ben: And we also have Lucy… Lucy: Hiiii Ben: And finally, we have Holly... Holly: Hello Everyone [Break] Ben: Jay why are we here and what are we doing? Jay: Well… Ben, this podcast will mostly be around gaming and
reviewing new, old and indie games, however the twist to our series is we
have two people who barely play video games because they aren’t really
bothered by them, then people like You and I that have been playing games for
donkeys’ years. [Break] Ben: Sounds great but firstly we just want to remind people about the
current COVID-19 Pandemic. Jay: Yes COVID-19 is currently a huge crisis in the UK, and we are currently
following the HM Governments legislations and that’s to stay alert. Lucy: Exactly Jay, you must work from home if you can. Holly: limit contact with other people Ben: Keep 2 metres apart if you have to go out Jay: And always wash your hands Lucy: Now let’s get down to business. |

Topic |
Ben: So, to start off the series we are going to be discussing some
topics around Grand Theft Auto 5 and we will be discussing among the group what
we like about GTA 5 Online. So, Lucy to start off the discussion what is your favourite thing
about Grand Theft Auto 5? Jay: Firstly, we should probably start off by saying what GTA 5 is
for anyone who has been living under a rock for the past 6 years. Lucy: yes, so basically the story mode is about three men, one is
retired, one has just started working legally and one is just a crazy psychopath
who knew the retired person. The main part of the campaign is these three
start doing a load of heists to get money as Michael (the Retired man) and
Trevor (the psychopath) had been doing this most of their life, and Franklin
(The legally working guy) gets recruited by Michael and joins them on their
heists. Most of it unravels the truth as to how Michael faked his death. Ben: sounds healthy Jay: yeah definitely Lucy: Anyway, my favourite part about GTA would be being able to do
heists with people I know and basically just being criminals for the day and
gaining loads of money which brings me a sort of adrenaline rush. Jay: I know exactly what you mean Lucy, especially when you’ve been
playing with the same squad and you’ve worked all the way up to the heist
finale and it’s a milestone in where you have come. Ben: I can agree to that however I think my favourite part about it
is not online, but on director mode where the cheats you could have in story
mode stay permanently on rather than them resetting every time you die or having
to input the code every 5 minutes for invincibility, with director mode it
stays on until you get fed up with the game which can be sometimes quite
difficult. Jay: Really? I get quite bored on director mode after a while,
there’s just not enough to do and it gets repetitive after a while. Holly: I am fairly new to the game so I haven’t unlocked a lot of the
perks for director mode but I have been looking around the maps for those
plants which you can eat and you can turn yourself into different types of
animals. Lucy: You can do that? Holly: Yeah! Its great fun! Ben: I knew about them, but I haven’t tried to go and find them. Jay: it seems quite boring to me. Ben: yeah, I agree with Jay there. Holly: What! No! Ben: your version of fun is a lot different to our versions. Lucy: [sniggers] Bit harsh Jay: he has a point though. Holly: well it’s fun for me Ben: fair enough Jay: Ben we play it a lot, is there any part which you aren’t keen
on? Ben: Well yes on the PC version online can get a bit hectic as it’s a
lot easier to hack on PC rather than the console editions. And sometimes its
good hackers but you mostly get the ones that trap you, send you into the sky
and back and constantly kill you. Jay: yeah, I tend to avoid the PC version as I mainly use it for mod-ding
story mode as Rockstar have said that they aren’t against mods. Ben: Aww I love mods Jay: I know right! Holly: what are mods? Lucy: Oh, dear Holly… Ben: ok that’s for another day Jay: yeah, we could go on for hours about mods. Ben: Yes, unfortunately we only have time for one more question. And
my final question is for Holly, what would you want the developers to add or
amend in the future? Holly: I would love them to add more animals! Like Flamingos and
cheetahs. Jay: Very different combination there… Lucy: Yeah, Holly I love your enthusiasm for animals Ben: yeah you are very unique holly Holly: Thanks, but the reason for that is just because I’d love them
to have their own special effects, like cheetahs going faster than standard
cars. And Flamingos bouncing around. Ben: ahh see that makes more sense, I like that idea. Jay: really, imagine being in a car and a cheetah just runs up and
tackles you out the car. Ben: [grinning] okay that sounds hilarious and amazing. Jay: [laughs] Laughter Ben: Okay and on that quite hilarious note, that’s it for today’s
first podcast. We will be back soon with more interesting topics for us to
discuss, See you all later! Everyone: byeeeeeeee. |
